MYEG Faces No Restart Until RM314 Million Payment Is Settled

MyEG Services Bhd (MyEG) must settle its outstanding payments in full before any application to resume operations can be considered, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.

“We stand by what we have said. We are expecting the payment. Before any application for operations to resume can be considered, there must be a settlement of the payment,” he told reporters after attending a handover ceremony for notification letters on special rate payments for houses of worship and capital-assisted schools at Menara Railway Assets Corporation (RAC) here today.

Loke said the ministry would maintain its position that the outstanding amount must be fully settled before MyEG can seek to resume its operations.

MyEG and Zetrix AI Bhd had their services as Road Transport Department (JPJ) collection agents suspended on Oct 5 after failing to transfer RM314 million in revenue collected between May 19 and Sept 30 to the government.

Loke previously said the companies had been given 35 reminders and engaged by the authorities since May over the outstanding payment.

The ceremony was also attended by Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri M. Jana Santhiran.
