Kinergy Advancement Bhd said Executive Director Datuk Seri Nazir Hussin Akhtar Hussin has voluntarily gone on garden leave effective Oct 8 following media reports concerning an investigation into his other business pursuits.
The company said the matters under investigation are separate from Kinergy’s affairs and operations, adding that the arrangement is an administrative and precautionary governance measure intended to allow the board to deliberate independently and impartially.
Kinergy stressed that, as of the date of the announcement, its board had not been informed of any finding or determination of wrongdoing arising from the investigation.
The group added that its day-to-day operations remain unaffected, with project delivery, site operations and customer commitments continuing under the existing management structure led by Executive Deputy Chairman and Group Managing Director Datuk Dr Lai Keng Onn and the senior management team.
He was appointed to the Board on 15 July 2025 and is currently also an Executive Director of Avangaad Berhad (Formerly Known As E. A. Technique (M) Berhad).
