Budget 2021: R&D initiatives receive RM400 million allocation

Putrajaya has allocated RM400 million for the R&D initiatives involving several ministries and agencies.

RM20 million has been allocated to create expertise in AI and Robotics under the Malaysia Techlympics and Science Space programme.

RM100 million will be allocated for the SUKUK PRIHATIN to enable research on vaccine development as well as treatment research and diagnostics.

Glovemakers, Top Glove, Hartalega, Supermax and Kossan has contributed RM400 million to battle the pandemic and to support the Covid-19 vaccine as well the purchasing costs of medical equipment.
