The Engineering and project management consultant HSS has become Malaysia’s flag-bearer as the sole representative in Engineering News-Record (ENR)’s Top 225 International Designs Firms 2022 list.
The list, published annually, showcases the world’s largest engineering design services firms in terms of revenue. The list includes notable international firms across the globe including the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Asia regions.
“We are immensely proud to be the flag bearer for Malaysia in the international engineering services sphere, to display the nation’s inherent Keluarga Malaysia indomitable spirit to stay resilient amidst the challenges of COVID-19 in the past year,”Tan Sri Ir. Kuna Sittampalam, Executive Vice Chairman of HSS Engineers Berhad said.
“Malaysia’s pro-development agenda, especially for infrastructure development by the public sector, has created a conducive environment for local engineers to boost their skillsets towards international-standard competencies, with the ultimate objective of bringing significant value-add to all citizens,” he added.
“In fact, this recognition spurs us forward to continue developing homegrown talent to the benefit of our local economy and enable all to prosper in these very challenging times. We are committed to upholding this ethos of maximising Malaysian content, raising the level of local skill sets to create the next Malaysian champions, and ultimately bringing widespread
benefits to all levels of society,” he stressed.
HEB Group has also gained international repute in recent times. Its most recent recognition to this end was becoming the first Malaysian-based engineering consultancy firm to become a Preferred Partner to a leading Japanese engineering consultancy firm Oriental Consultants Global Co. Ltd. to collaborate on potential infrastructure projects in ASEAN, India and any other country including in the Middle East North Africa region.
“This collaboration along with other potential partnerships in ASEAN and India Region will expand our international footprint and earnings over the next few years. This is testament of how the leading Japanese players have recognised our deep local knowledge and skill sets, paving the way for Malaysian engineers to expand our skillsets overseas,” Tan Sri Kuna said.
“Establishing international cooperation is certainly beneficial in adopting new technologies and promoting knowledge-sharing. While our priority, first and foremost, is the advancement of our home country in line with our contribution to nation building, we are cognizant of the numerous opportunities all over the world. The time has come to take our knowledge to developing nations and to expand our reach globally,” he concluded.
