Bank Rakyat, UiTM Collaborate In Empowering Graduates Towards Entrepreneurship

Bank Rakyat and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the ‘Graduate Mentoring Program’ initiative as an effort to empower graduates towards entrepreneurship.

Through a total fund allocation of RM50 million, this program provides business capital facilities through Bank Rakyat business financing of up to RM100,000; training modules include entrepreneurship, business management and marketing strategy courses as well as an inclusive hands-on training program with selected vendor companies for three to six months.
In his speech during the ceremony, Bank Rakyat’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Business, Ahmad Shahril Mohd Shariff said, “Bank Rakyat as an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) has developed various comprehensive entrepreneur empowerment programs to ensure that every entrepreneur gets necessary help and support.

Therefore, he said Bank Rakyat greatly welcomes and appreciates the commitment given by UiTM as a strategic partner of Bank Rakyat under this initiative which aims to produce more entrepreneurs who are competitive and competitive.

Ahmad Shahril added, this effort is a manifestation of Bank Rakyat in supporting the objectives of the National Entrepreneurship Policy (DKN 2030) which is in line with Bank Rakyat’s aspirations in driving the development of the micro, small and medium enterprise sector (PMKS) outlined under Bank Rakyat’s strategic plan 2025 ( BR25).

“In addition, as one of the country’s Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) responsible for developing the country’s main sectors including the PMKS sector, Bank Rakyat sees this joint initiative with Higher Education Institutions (IPTs) as being able to help the Government address the issue of graduate marketability by choosing the field of entrepreneurship as a career.” he said.
