AWC Announces MoU To Provide USM With Electric Bikes

AWC Berhad (AWC) announced that it had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) today (Oct 18) to provide electric bikes (e-Mobility) and related services.

The MoU will enable AWC, well-established engineering service provider, and USM to explore opportunities in Smart and Green Campus with focus on e-Mobility and related services and solutions.

The agreement shall come into force from the date of signature and is valid for twelve months unless terminated by the Parties.

AWC group chief executive officer and president Datuk Ahmad Kabeer said AWC is pivoting and aligning the groups business composition to be more environmental, social and governance focused.

“Our potential collaboration with USM is also in-line with the government’s initiative to realise their sustainability targets via the adoption of e-Mobility solutions.

“I would like to thank USM for being open to work with us and hope that this MOU will materialize into something more definitive in the near future,” he said.

Ahmad Kabeer added the group have recently announced its intention to acquire the balance 49% of Stream Group, and this MOU further cements its commitment that ESG related businesses and facilitate the continuing growth of the group’s core business as a diverse ESG player.
