Morimatsu, Dialog’s RM250 Million Expansion To Address Green Energy Demand

Morimatsu International Holdings Company Limited (Morimatsu) and Dialog Group Berhad (Dialog) will carry out RM250 million expansion for the facilities of their JV company Morimatsu Dialog (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Pengerang.

In a Bursa listing today (Nov 7), the group said that the expansion was to further grow the one-stop engineering and fabrication services to serve both local and international customers.

Morimatsu executive director Hirotaka Kawashima said the JV company (Morimatsu Dialog) will focus on manufacturing equipments and modules that are used to produce raw materials for EV batteries, semiconductors and green energy.

“This will enable us to establish a system that can provide our customers with comprehensive services and one-stop solutions. Overseas demand in these areas is increasing rapidly and the overseas business will drive our growth.

“We will firstly establish a production system with an annual revenue target of RM300 million,” he said.

Dialog executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat added: “This joint venture has gone from strength to strength, catering to international clients and successfully secured several jobs from companies from USA, United Kingdom, Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia.

“With both Morimatsu and DIALOG’s proven track record and good reputation in the local and international market, I am confident that this expansion will continue to provide an excellent value proposition for this joint venture.”

Morimatsu and Dialog held a groundbreaking ceremony today, which was officiated by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi alongside Kawashima and Ngau.

With the expansion estimated to be completed progressively by the first quarter of 2025, the 18,245 m2 facility will mainly consist of module production workshops equipped with modern workplace amenities an infrastructure.

This will support Morimatsu Dialog in meeting the demands and opportunities in the region and beyond while contributing more opportunities to the state’s job market.

In his speech, Onn said the newly expanded facility will be able to support the overall growth of Pengerang and continue to be a preferred investment destination.

“This is in line with our wish to attract high-quality and value-adding investments into the state and will create more than 500 jobs,” he said.

Morimatsu Dialog was established in 2021, to provide one-stop engineering and fabrication services.

This strategic partnership combines Morimatsu’s competitive strength in advancing Japanese craftsmanship and Dialog’s local expertise as well as the strategic location of Pengerang. Morimatsu has 51% stake in the company while Dialog has the balance 49%.
