NASDAQ-Listed Agape ATP Unveils Expansion Plans, Green Initiatives

Homegrown Nasdaq-listed Agape ATP Corporation (ATPC) announced the company’s move to push forward its sustainability green energy initiative at the NASDAQ opening bell ringing ceremony recently.

Hosted by ATPC at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the event marks a significant milestone for the company, as the health and wellness solutions company also unveiled its sustainability initiatives.

ATPC founder and global group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr How Kok Choong said as the company forge ahead with collaborations with various companies, it is thrilled to be at the forefront of Malaysia’s green energy transition.

“Our initiative of establishing 50 EV charging stations in Pahang, coupled with the plans of establishing a 300 MWp solar farm in Sabah, is a bold stride towards our commitment to sustainable development.

“These efforts, enhanced by our partnerships, are a testament to how environmental sustainability and corporate growth can successfully coexist.

“Your presence today (ceremony guests) is a testament to our shared vision for a sustainable future. We stand here today, poised for a future where green energy is not just an option, but a driving force for innovation and prosperity,” Liow said.

Central to ATPC’s sustainability strategy is a memorandum of agreement with Volt Industries Sdn Bhd (VOLT) in November 2023.

The company’s acquisition of a 51% stake in VOLT is currently its final stages but the partnership has allowed for initiatives such as 50 EV stations in Pahang, which is already in development progress.

VOLT has also independently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KAB Smart Solar Energy Sdn Bhd to open avenues for collaboration in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) services specifically for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Last November, the company said it also signed a memorandum of agreement with EV bike specialist Oriental Industries Enterprise Sdn Bhd (OIE) to establish a 50:50 special purpose vehicle (SPV) to jointly focus on the distribution and marketing of EV bikes.

Highlighting this partnership, the ceremony featured an impressive showcase of EV bike display which will go to market in key cities, especially in the Klang Valley region, after inspection and obtaining clearance from SIRIM.

The ceremony was attended by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Dr Johari Abdul and Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry’s Trade, Distribution, and Business Sector, senior director Datuk Rohaizi Bahari representing Minister Datuk Armizan Bin Mohd Ali; SIRIM chairman Datuk Ir (Dr) Khairol Nuar Mohamad Tawi, as well as NASDAQ Asean Investor Relations and IPO director Hiren Krishnani.

Also in attendance were guests and business partners from Japan, Germany, the United States of America, China, Indonesia, among others.
