GDB Secures RM306 Million Contract To Build Private In Bukit Jalil

Construction services firm GDB Holdings Berhad (GDB) today secured a RM306 million contract from KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd for the construction of a private hospital in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement, GDB said its unit, Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd (GDBSB), secured the contract as the main contractor, and will be involved in the execution, performance, design, construction, completion, commissioning of machinery and equipment, and maintenance of the private hospital building.

The construction for KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd, which is a subsidiary of KL Wellness City Sdn Bhd, will be carried out over a period of 25 months, commencing on 16 March 2024.

GDB group managing director Cheah Ham Cheia expressed that it is pleased to be chosen to undertake the construction of the hospital at KL Wellness City, and to play a pivotal role in erecting a landmark building in this visionary city.

“The contract marks a significant milestone as we embark on constructing a state-of-the-art hospital and at the same time elevating our track record. Our ongoing commitment to deliver our projects with high quality and on time remains unwavering to our clients,” it said.

The hospital will be the centrepiece of KL Wellness City, poised to be a world-class hub for both domestic and international healthcare and medical services, featuring centres of excellence across areas including cardiology, spine health, neuro health, sports medicine, cosmetic surgery and fertility.

“With this win, GDB’s current orderbook stands at RM475 million, from RM169 million as at 30 September 2023. GDB intends to fund the project with internally generated funds and/or bank borrowings,” it said.
