Salcon Unit Secures RM20 Million Sewerage Contract From Penang Dev Corp

Salcon Bhd announced that Envitech Sdn Bhd, a 60%-owned subsidiary of Salcon Engineering Berhad, which is the group’s wholly-owned unit, had secured a sewerage contract from Penang Development Corporation (PDC) for RM19.68 million.

In a statement today (Feb 5), Salcon said Envitech had accepted a Letter of Award (LOA) from PDC for the design and construction of sewer pipelines and related works in Batu Kawan Industrial Park, Penang.

The contract will commence on 5 February 2024 for a duration of 24 months, and is expected to be completed on 4 February 2026.

Salcon Engineering Berhad chief operating officer Jamiluddin Amini Sulaiman said as the group marks its 50th anniversary this year, it is thrilled to receive the LOA for this project, a testament PDC’s strong confidence in Salcon.

“With Envitech, our wastewater subsidiary, boasting a solid 40-year track record and extensive expertise in the wastewater sector, we have full confidence in executing the project to successful completion.

“The project is expected to contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets of Salcon group for the financial years ending 31 December 2024 and 31 December 2026,” Jamiluddin added.
