RHB Terminates Employee For Posting Doctored Image Of PM

RHB Banking Group has terminated the employment of a staff member from its Kulim Barat branch after she shared a doctored image of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on social media, depicting him in attire bearing the Israeli flag.

In a statement, RHB said it had concluded its internal investigation into the incident, which went viral earlier this week, and confirmed that the individual is no longer employed with the bank, effective Oct 31, 2025.

“At RHB, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and mutual respect across all our interactions.

“We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any behaviour that contravenes our Code of Ethics and Conduct,” the bank said.

The employee, identified as Siti Nurziswanis Mohd Zain, had earlier issued a public apology to the Prime Minister on social media, admitting she had reposted the doctored image originally created by another user, “putsz”.

The controversial post drew sharp criticism online, with many calling it disrespectful and misleading.

RHB’s swift action underscores the banking group’s firm stance against inappropriate online conduct by its employees and its commitment to maintaining public trust and corporate integrity.
