Licensing, IP Deals, Distribution Opportunity, HK Toy Fair Is Maturing

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) today opened its doors for three major trade events—the 52nd HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, the 17th HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, and the 24th Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair.

Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the four-day fairs have attracted over 2,600 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, positioning the event as a crucial platform for networking, business generation, and fostering cross-regional trade cooperation at the start of the new year.

Under the theme ‘New Play for All,’ the fairs are segmented across play, growth, and creativity, drawing major international buyers through over 200 buyer missions from more than 40 countries and regions.Key Product Trends Driving New Market Growth

HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Jenny Koo highlighted that the fairs are tapping into significant emerging markets, with several key trends shaping the industry’s immediate future:
Pop Culture and Collectibles Toys: The booming “kidult” and toy collecting markets are providing strong growth momentum. To capitalise on this, the HKTDC launched the new “Pop & Play” pavilion, featuring around 150 local and international Intellectual Properties.

The trend for eco-friendly continues its showcase at the fair, featuring a “Green Toys” zone and over 400 exhibitors using the “Green Solutions” label—a 10% increase from 2025. Products include a Beach Funnel Set made from Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) and baby push walker toys certified under the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and Global Recycling Standard (GRS).
