Belmond Steps Into The Art World At ART SG

Belmond is making its ART SG debut from January  23 to 25, 2026, with a preview and Vernissage on January 22. At Singapore’s largest international art fair, the brand is presenting two contemporary works by Chinese artist Wu Jian’an alongside a focused edit of its photographic publishing.

The centrepiece is 500 Brushstrokes for Peru, a collaborative work created by Wu Jian’an in partnership with Belmond.

Drawing on Chinese calligraphy, paper-cutting and collage, the artwork brings together nearly 500 brushstrokes contributed by communities across Peru’s coast, highlands and Amazon.

That sense of collaboration comes from time spent on the ground. In 2023 and 2024, Wu Jian’an travelled through Peru, from Cusco and the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and Lima.

A director’s cut of the documentary filmed during the journey, directed by Luo Yunfei, will be screening at the booth.

Art isn’t the only focus. Belmond is also bringing its publishing programme to ART SG, using books as another way to explore place. On display is the As Seen By series with RVB Books, featuring photographers including Colin Dodgson, Letizia Le Fur, Stefanie Moshammer, Coco Capitán and Rosie Marks, alongside Recipes & Wanderings with Apartamento and Legendary Destinations with Assouline.

The latest release, Peru: An Odyssey Across a Time-Honoured Land, launched in November 2025, marks 25 years of Belmond in Peru.

“This exhibition space reflects our belief that cultural storytelling should be rooted in lived experience and editorial depth,” says Jonathan Openshaw, Belmond’s Editor-in-Chief. “It brings art, publishing and storytelling together in a way that feels human and lasting.”

Taking place at Marina Bay Sands Expo, ART SG brings together galleries, collectors and cultural voices from across the region.

Belmond’s presentation will also feature live brushstroke demonstrations by Wu Jian’an on January 22 and 23, offering a rare chance to see the process behind the work as it happens.
