The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi is celebrating the Year of the Horse with a mix of Chinese New Year traditions, modern cuisine, and family-friendly experiences. Across the island’s stunning landscapes, the resort is offering dining, cultural activities, and wellness journeys designed to bring vitality, prosperity, and reunion to life.
A Prosperity Reunion Dinner and Peranakan Feast
From February 17 to 23, Hai Yan, Langkawi’s only fine-dining Chinese restaurant, will host a six-course reunion dinner. Guests can enjoy highlights that include Prosperity Yee Sang with abalone and salmon, double‑boiled fish maw with morel mushroom, wok-fried Wagyu beef with black truffle, and a chilled mango and avocado purée with pomelo, sago, crispy nian gao, and taro.
The meal concludes with complimentary tang yuan, a traditional symbol of unity. On 3 March, Hai Yan marks Chap Goh Mei, the finale of Chinese New Year, with a curated menu overlooking the Andaman Sea in a space inspired by a fisherman’s hut.
On February 16, Langkawi Kitchen will host a Peranakan buffet for Chinese New Year’s Eve. The menu features festive favourites such as yee sang, ayam pongteh, daging masak hitam, udang masak lemak nenas, lamb curry kapitan, and Nyonya laksa lemak.
With indoor and outdoor seating set beside an ancient rainforest and inspired by Bornean longhouse design, the restaurant offers panoramic natural views.
Festive Cocktails at Horizon
From 16 February to 3 March, Horizon Lounge and Bar will serve five Year of the Horse-inspired cocktails: Citrus Reverie, Crimson Mandate, Golden Goji, Yuzu Prosperity, and Osmanthus Fortune. Adults-only, with rainforest surrounds and sunset views over the Andaman Sea, Horizon provides a relaxed space for evening drinks, intimate toasts, or festive moments with friends.
Family Fun and Relaxation

Weekend highlights include Spring Festival cinema and lucky lantern crafts, creating shared memories for families celebrating together.
From January 5 to March 31, the Ritz-Carlton Spa offers wellness treatments inspired by prosperity and renewal. Massages and body rituals use aromatic oils crafted for the Year of the Horse, designed to promote vitality, harmony, and strength.
