RM274 Million In Export Sales Signals eBizLink’s Digital Success For MSMEs

Malaysia’s cross-border e-commerce initiative, eBizLink, has generated RM274 million in export sales from 2023 to 2025 while accelerating digital adoption among local exporters, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).

“The eBizLink programme has recorded remarkable success with RM274 million in export sales during its implementation from 2023 to 2025,” said MATRADE Chief Executive Officer Abu Bakar Yusof.

He added, “This high-impact initiative reflects MATRADE’s commitment to encouraging exports through cross-border e-commerce platforms and strengthening Malaysian companies’ access to global markets, particularly MSMEs.”

During the programme’s implementation, 1,855 local companies benefited from 37 digital export promotion activities across international markets, including Saudi Arabia, China, Chile, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nigeria, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Vietnam, France, Germany, Bangladesh and Thailand.

Key sectors contributing to these exports included pharmaceuticals, personal care products, cosmetics, food and beverages and services.

The initiative also prioritised capacity building for MSMEs through digital trade mentoring programmes in Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah and Negeri Sembilan, in collaboration with state governments and international cross-border e-commerce players.

eBizLink’s approach combines comprehensive digital promotion, including potential e-commerce platforms, online business matching, online-to-offline strategies, social commerce marketing, e-marketing campaigns, influencer engagement and training programmes on cross-border e-commerce.

Strategic partnerships with international industry players, including Amazon, eBay, TikTok, DHL Express, Lulu Hypermarket, FamilyMart, Carrefour and HKTV Mall, were established to broaden market reach and enhance the competitiveness of Malaysian exporters.

“Based on the encouraging achievements under 12MP, the eBizLink programme will continue under 13MP as eBizLink 2.0 for five years from 2026 to 2030,” Abu Bakar said.

For 2026, the programme aims to run 16 initiatives, assist 2,000 companies and generate RM250 million in export sales through digital promotion to strengthen Malaysian businesses in cross-border e-commerce.
