Louis Vuitton Just Reworked Its Monogram Flower Into A Watch Collection

Louis Vuitton is turning one of its best-known jewellery collections into a watch story. The French fashion house has unveiled four new Colour Blossom watches, bringing its signature Monogram Flower motif into watchmaking with designs that feel more like jewellery pieces than traditional timepieces.

Fronted by house ambassador Ana de Armas and photographed by Inez & Vinoodh, the launch marks the latest step in Louis Vuitton’s growing focus on high jewellery and Swiss-made watches.

The new 26mm watches are shaped around the Monogram Flower first created by Georges Vuitton in 1896. Rounded cases, curved gemstone dials and soft lines give the collection a smoother, more sculptural look than a classic watch design.

Small details, including a flower-shaped crown and nail-inspired motifs on the hands, reference the house’s trunkmaking history without overwhelming the design.

There are four versions in the collection, each with a different mood. One pair of white mother-of-pearl with steel and a beige strap for an understated everyday option, while another combines blush-toned mother-of-pearl with pink gold and a pale pink strap.

The boldest design features a turquoise amazonite dial set in yellow gold, while the most elevated version is finished with more than 100 brilliant-cut diamonds surrounding a white mother-of-pearl face.

The dials are where much of the craftsmanship comes in. Louis Vuitton uses mother-of-pearl sourced from Australian shells and amazonite from Brazil, with each stone cut down to an ultra-thin layer before being curved and hand-polished.

A subtle rail-track minute marker is stamped directly onto the stone, adding practicality without taking away from the clean jewellery-inspired finish.

The technical side of the collection also pushed Louis Vuitton’s watchmaking teams further than usual. Working with such thin stone surfaces meant the brand had to carefully engineer the stamping and polishing process to avoid cracking the material.

The finishing is completed at La Fabrique des Arts, the specialist crafts division within the house’s watchmaking workshops.

Launching in boutiques on June 12, the Colour Blossom watches feel designed for customers who want a luxury watch that doubles as a statement accessory.
