Wisma Putra: One Malaysian Killed In Philippines Building Collapse

One Malaysian national has been confirmed dead following a building collapse in Angeles, Philippines, on May 24, 2026, the Foreign Affairs Ministry (Wisma Putra) said, while another Malaysian involved in the incident was found safe and unharmed.

The ministry said the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila has been providing consular assistance to the survivor, while also extending support to the family of the deceased, including arrangements for the repatriation and funeral proceedings.

Wisma Putra expressed its deepest condolences to the next-of-kin, noting that the family has already been informed of the passing.

The ministry also thanked Philippine authorities for their cooperation and assistance in managing the incident.

It reiterated Malaysia’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare and safety of its citizens abroad through continued consular support.
