WWDC26: Apple Rolls Out Major AI Push With Siri AI, iOS 27 And New Safety Tools

Apple’s WWDC26 announcements did not include any analyst commentary or ratings, with no research house calls cited in the provided reports. Instead, Apple unveiled a sweeping software overhaul headlined by its next generation of Apple Intelligence, a rebuilt Siri AI and expanded parental controls across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27.

According to Apple, the next generation of Apple Intelligence is designed around a privacy-first architecture that powers a more capable Siri AI, capable of drawing personal context across messages, emails and photos while also responding to on-screen content and web queries. The assistant is also integrated more deeply across apps and devices, supported by a dedicated Siri app and systemwide actions aimed at improving productivity, communication and content creation.

Apple also introduced major updates to family safety tools, including new child accounts, enhanced communication approvals and redesigned Screen Time features. Parents will be able to set app access permissions more precisely, introduce daily time allowances across app categories and manage schedules to control usage patterns, alongside stronger communication safety protections.

Across its platforms, Apple highlighted performance and design refinements including faster app launches, improved photo processing speeds and smoother AirDrop transfers. It also introduced new personalisation options for interface elements, alongside upgrades to core apps such as Photos, Safari, Messages and Mail, as well as expanded App Store capabilities aimed at developers and subscription models.

However, Apple confirmed that Siri AI and several Apple Intelligence features will be delayed in the European Union on iOS and iPadOS due to Digital Markets Act requirements, although availability will continue on macOS, watchOS and visionOS in the region.
