SD Guthrie’s Johor Land Sale To Eco World Becomes Unconditional

SD Guthrie Bhd announced that the sale of land in Johor for the development of Eco Business Park 8 (EBP8) has become unconditional, marking a key milestone in its strategic industrial property collaboration with Eco World Development Group Bhd and Johor state-linked partners.

The group said the Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) involving the proposed disposal of land to Eco Business Park 8 Sdn Bhd became unconditional on June 11, 2026.

As a result, the amended and restated share subscription agreement linked to the transaction has also taken effect immediately.

The transaction forms part of a broader partnership first announced in November 2025 involving Permodalan Darul Ta’zim Sdn Bhd, SD Guthrie’s unit SD Guthrie Land Ventures Sdn Bhd (SDGLV), Eco World Development Group and EBP8.

The collaboration is aimed at developing a large-scale industrial park in Johor, leveraging the combined strengths of the participating parties in land development, industrial property and investment.

The latest development clears a key condition precedent for the Johor land disposal and enables the parties to move forward with the implementation of the EBP8 project.

Separately, the original transaction framework also includes a proposed industrial park development in Negeri Sembilan through Eco Business Park 7 Sdn Bhd (EBP7), involving NS Corporation, SDGLV and Eco World Development Group.

The company did not disclose any additional financial impact arising from the latest update, noting only that the Johor land disposal agreement had satisfied all conditions required for completion.

The announcement follows SD Guthrie’s efforts to unlock value from its landbank through strategic industrial and township developments, particularly in high-growth economic corridors such as Johor, which continues to attract manufacturing and logistics investments linked to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and broader regional supply chain shifts.
