Strong 6.4-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Mindanao, No Tsunami Threat To Malaysia

A strong earthquake measuring magnitude 6.4 struck Mindanao, Philippines at 5.18pm on June 15, 2026, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

The quake was recorded at coordinates 6.1°N and 126.9°E, approximately 155km southeast of Davao, with a depth of 90km.

However, MetMalaysia confirmed that there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia following the seismic event.
