Bursa Malaysia Ends Higher As Broader Market Extends Gains

Bursa Malaysia closed marginally higher on Friday, supported by gains across key market indices despite cautious trading sentiment.

The benchmark FBM KLCI edged up 0.64 points, or 0.04%, to 1,712.03.

Broader market performance remained positive, with the FBM70 Index rising 71.78 points, or 0.40%, to 18,162.58, while the FBM Small Cap Index advanced 68.95 points, or 0.55%, to 12,558.66.

The FBM Emas Index gained 17.79 points, or 0.14%, to 12,681.05, while the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia (F4GBM) Index climbed 1.40 points, or 0.14%, to 1,028.52.

The positive close reflected continued buying interest in selected mid- and small-cap stocks, helping lift the broader market even as gains on the benchmark index remained modest.

Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNEX) topped Bursa Malaysia’s active list on Friday, with 1.80 billion shares traded, as the stock surged eight sen, to close at 46.5 sen.

Tanco Holdings Bhd was the second most active counter, with 1.13 billion shares traded. The stock slipped 0.5 sen to 14 sen.

Among other active stocks being traded are Zetrix AI Bhd, Top Glove Corp Bhd , and Pentech Holdings Bhd (PENTECH).

The active trading list reflected continued investor interest in technology, construction and glove-related counters amid a broadly positive market sentiment.
