Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd (MPI) topped Bursa Malaysia’s gainers list on Friday, rising RM1.34 to RM49.90 with 616,700 shares traded.
Nestlé (Malaysia) Bhd added RM1.08 to RM96.22, while United Plantations Bhd gained 86 sen to RM32.66. PPB Group Bhd climbed 82 sen to RM10.12, and Allianz Malaysia Bhd advanced 52 sen to RM21.60.
On the downside, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd led the losers, falling 16 sen to RM15.20.
CIMB Group Holdings Bhd was among the most actively traded counters on the losers’ list, shedding 13 sen to RM7.65 with 17.47 million shares changing hands. Ralco Corp Bhd also declined 13 sen to 90 sen, while Mega First Corporation Bhd (MFCB) and Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (PChem) each fell nine sen to RM2.91 and RM4.49, respectively.
The mixed performance among blue-chip counters came as Bursa Malaysia ended marginally higher, with gains in selected consumer, plantation and industrial stocks offset by weakness in banking and petrochemical counters.
