Fresh-Looking PM Officiates MKS Instruments Opening In Penang

Fresh from his official visit to Turkmenistan, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wasted no time returning to work, officiating the opening of MKS Instruments Malaysia Sdn Bhd’s new facility at the Bandar Cassia Technology Park in Penang on Saturday.

The event marked Anwar’s first official engagement in the state as part of his packed one-day working visit to Penang, underscoring the government’s continued push to attract high-value investments and strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global semiconductor and advanced manufacturing supply chain.

The opening of the facility highlights growing investor confidence in Malaysia, particularly in Penang, which remains a key hub for the electrical and electronics industry.

Anwar is also scheduled to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Setia Fontaines Industrial Park in Kepala Batas and later participate in the National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2026 Summit.

The Prime Minister arrived in Penang shortly after concluding his official visit to Turkmenistan, where Malaysia secured key energy cooperation agreements through PETRONAS.
