Malton Partners Nvidia Cloud Partner RiCloud To Build AI Comute Centre In Malaysia

Malton Berhad has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with United States-based AI cloud infrastructure provider Ricloud AI Inc to collaborate on promoting AI cloud services and establishing artificial intelligence (AI) compute centres in Malaysia.

The group said the MOU is part of efforts to tap into the rapid growth of data centres, cloud computing and AI-related infrastructure demand.

Under the proposed collaboration, Ricloud and Malton intend to jointly promote Ricloud’s AI infrastructure services in Malaysia before expanding into neighbouring Southeast Asian markets.

Ricloud, an official NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP), will leverage its AI expertise and access to NVIDIA technologies to support the development of AI Compute Centres — specialised data centre facilities designed to handle intensive AI workloads, including machine learning model training and real-time AI applications.

As part of the collaboration, Ricloud will be responsible for securing potential investors, particularly large global technology companies, to invest in and establish AI Compute Centres in Malaysia.

Ricloud will also provide technical expertise in designing and planning the facilities, as well as supply AI servers, NVIDIA GPU clusters and NVIDIA AI Enterprise solutions in accordance with NCP requirements.

Meanwhile, Malton will assist investors in identifying suitable locations, acquiring land where required, securing approvals from local authorities, and acting as the main contractor for the construction, completion, testing and commissioning of the AI Compute Centres.

The company said the partnership is expected to create opportunities for Malton Group to participate in the expanding cloud, AI computing and data centre sectors.

“AI Compute Centres are becoming increasingly important as demand grows for advanced computing capabilities to support AI applications,” Malton said.

The MOU will remain effective for 12 months and is intended to facilitate discussions, information exchange and the identification of potential investors before any definitive agreements are entered into.

Malton clarified that the MOU is non-binding, except for confidentiality obligations, and does not constitute a legally enforceable agreement between the parties.

As such, the collaboration will not have any immediate impact on Malton’s issued share capital, substantial shareholders’ holdings, net assets, gearing, earnings or earnings per share.

The company added that there are no interests involving its directors, major shareholders or connected persons in relation to the MOU.

Malton’s board said the collaboration is in the best interest of the company as it positions the group to participate in the growing regional demand for AI infrastructure and next-generation data centre development.
