Chin Hin Group Chairman And Founder Datuk Chiau Beng Teik Resigns

Chin Hin Group Property Berhad announced today that its long-serving founder and non-independent non-executive Chairman, Datuk Seri Chiau Beng Teik, has resigned from his position effective July 1, 2026.

According to the group’s regulatory filing the 65-year-old corporate leader stepped down due to personal commitments.

Chiau was appointed to the board on January 23, 2015. While not actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the group, he has been primarily responsible for driving the overall strategic vision and business direction of the organisation, reviewing all major investments, financing proposals, and capital expenditure for the board.

Chiau’s resignation marks a transition for the group he helped build over more than four decades. His entrepreneurial journey began in January 1975 at the age of 13, when he started working at his father’s hardware shop after finishing his primary education at SJK(C) Pei Min in Alor Setar, Kedah.

In March 1994, he took over his family’s business and ventured independently into building materials trading and cement transportation under the name “Chop Chin Hin.” Less than a year later, in February 1995, he incorporated Syarikat Perniagaan dan Pengangkutan Chin Hin Sdn Bhd (now known as PP Chin Hin Sdn Bhd).

Under his leadership, the business transformed from a single regional office in Alor Setar into a diversified group of companies backed by an expansive network of branches and manufacturing facilities across Peninsular Malaysia.

Chiau is the father of Chiau Haw Choon, who currently serves as Chin Hin Group Property’s Group Managing Director and remains a major shareholder. He is also the spouse of Datin Seri Wong Mee Leng, another major shareholder in the company.
