Rolls-Royce Unveils One-Off Phantom Regatta Inspired By Britain’s Racing Yachts

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has lifted the wraps off the Phantom Regatta, a one-of-one Phantom Extended commission that channels the elegance and craftsmanship of Britain’s iconic racing yachts into the brand’s flagship limousine.

Making its public debut at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the bespoke creation pays tribute to the regattas of England’s south coast, including the historic Cowes Week, while celebrating the maritime heritage surrounding the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood.

The nautical inspiration is immediately evident in the exterior. Finished in a hand-applied two-tone combination of Regatta Blue and English White, the paintwork mirrors the clean waterline of a racing yacht slicing through the sea. Complementing the look are 22-inch fully polished disc wheels whose reflective surfaces are reminiscent of polished yacht hardware.

Step inside and the Phantom Regatta continues the marine theme with a cabin designed to evoke a yacht under full sail. Navy Blue leather wraps the front compartment, while the rear suite transitions into Grace White, creating a visual contrast between deep ocean waters and billowing canvas sails. Turquoise RR monograms, dual-tone stitching and matching piping complete the bespoke interior palette.

The handcrafted wood veneers are equally impressive. Piano Milori is paired with Open Pore Royal Walnut across the dashboard, rear doors and picnic tables, the latter requiring around 120 hours of meticulous craftsmanship. Constructed from 16 individually laid walnut “planks” separated by ultra-thin Black Bolivar wood inlays, the tables faithfully recreate the appearance of a traditional yacht deck.

Dominating the fascia is a unique Gallery artwork titled Watercolour, hand-painted by a Rolls-Royce in-house artist using specially developed techniques to replicate the movement and depth of open water.

Overhead, a Bespoke Starlight Headliner featuring 1,307 fibre-optic lights takes inspiration from the swirling tidal currents around the Isle of Wight, while illuminated coach doors reinforce the commission’s bespoke character.

Even the smallest details have been carefully considered. Hidden within the dashboard air vents are engraved coordinates marking Goodwood House and the Home of Rolls-Royce, subtly linking the Phantom Regatta to the birthplace of the marque.

According to Phil Fabre de la Grange, Head of Bespoke at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the Phantom Regatta showcases the capabilities of the company’s Bespoke division by translating the colours, materials and spirit of competitive sailing into a handcrafted automotive masterpiece.

While mechanically identical to the Phantom Extended, the Regatta demonstrates that Rolls-Royce’s greatest engineering achievement isn’t always found beneath the bonnet. Instead, it lies in its ability to transform a flagship luxury sedan into a deeply personal work of art, one that is every bit as exclusive as the yacht that inspired it.
