Wisma Putar, MyCC Sign Pact To Curb Bid-Rigging In Government Procurement

The Foreign Affairs Ministry (Wisma Putra) has signed a letter of understanding with the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) to strengthen procurement integrity and intensify efforts to detect and prevent bid-rigging cartels in government procurement.

According to the ministry, the agreement aims to enhance transparency and competitiveness in the ministry’s procurement processes while safeguarding public funds from unethical practices.

Under the collaboration, MyCC will provide technical advisory support and assessment reports to help the ministry identify early indicators of potential bid-rigging activities.

The commission will also conduct regular training sessions for the ministry’s procurement officers on cartel detection and prevention, alongside assisting in monitoring competition risks under the Competition Act 2010.

The ministry said the initiative underscores its commitment to stronger governance practices and aligns with national efforts to promote fair competition and integrity in public procurement systems.
