Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Strikes Indonesia’s Talaud Islands

A moderate magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Indonesia’s Talaud Islands at 3.16pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia).

The quake occurred at a depth of 10km, with its epicentre located at coordinates 3.2° North and 127.5° East, approximately 137km southeast of Talaud Island, Indonesia.

MetMalaysia said there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
