Pekat Group Bhd has secured two contracts worth a combined RM46.94 million to supply and install earthing and lightning protection systems for data centre developments in Negeri Sembilan and Johor, strengthening its foothold in Malaysia’s fast-growing digital infrastructure sector.
The contracts comprise a RM19.73 million project for a hyperscale data centre in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, scheduled for completion by June 30, 2027, and a RM27.21 million project for a data centre in Johor, expected to be completed by Sept 19, 2027.
Pekat Group CEO Tai Yee Chee said the projects reflect clients’ confidence in the group’s technical expertise and track record in delivering critical power protection infrastructure.
“Earthing and lightning protection systems are critical safety infrastructure for data centres, given the high-value equipment and continuous uptime requirements involved,” he said.
The latest contract wins are expected to contribute positively to Pekat’s earnings for the current financial year, subject to project progress and execution risks.
Pekat said the awards reinforce its expansion into the data centre supply chain, leveraging its expertise in power protection and power generation as demand grows alongside investments in cloud computing and digital infrastructure.
The group remains focused on securing more data centre-related projects as Malaysia’s digital infrastructure development continues to accelerate.
