AirAsia X has announced that it has completed its name change to AirAsia Group Berhad following shareholders’ approval at the Company’s 19th Annual General Meeting on 25 June 2026 and the registration of the new name by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM), effective 2 July 2026.
In a statement, the low-cost airline said the new name reflects a stronger, more integrated airline group built to capture the next phase of aviation growth across Asia and beyond. The consolidation brings AirAsia closer to its ambition of becoming the world’s first low-cost network carrier, combining greater scale and connectivity with the affordability and agility that defines the brand. Further positioning the Group to optimise its network, strengthen operations, and continue making air travel more accessible for millions of guests.
