Tanco Receives Approval For Smart AI Container Port Development In Port Dickson

Tanco Holdings Berhad announced that it has secured key regulatory approvals from the Port Dickson Municipal Council (MPPD) for its proposed Smart AI Container Port project.

The group said its 79%-owned subsidiary, Midports Holdings Sdn. Bhd, received the Certificate of Approval from MPPD late on July 10, confirming that several critical development applications had been approved.

The approvals, all granted on July 7, cover the project’s building plan, earthworks plan, road and drainage plan, as well as the street lighting plan.

This paves the way for the next phase of development of the proposed Smart AI Container Port, which Tanco has positioned as a technology-driven logistics hub incorporating artificial intelligence to enhance port operations and efficiency.

The latest development follows a series of announcements made by the company since January 2024 regarding the proposed port project. Tanco had previously updated shareholders on various stages of the project’s planning and regulatory progress in January and September 2024, October 2024, and March 2026.

While the company did not disclose a timeline for the commencement of construction or the project’s total investment value in the latest, it said further announcements would be made as material developments arise.
