A new spa experience in Mui Ne is moving beyond conventional wellness trends by drawing inspiration from the region’s ancient history. The Anam Mui Ne has introduced Champa Journey, a collection of four treatments inspired by the legacy of the Champa Kingdom and Vietnam’s traditional herbal healing practices.
The Champa Kingdom was a Hindu-Buddhist civilisation that existed along Vietnam’s central and southern coastline for more than a thousand years. While its influence remains visible through historical sites and cultural traditions, The Anam Mui Ne is using that heritage as a starting point for a modern wellness programme built around native ingredients and traditional therapies.
The collection features four 120-minute treatments that use locally familiar ingredients, including perilla leaves, lemongrass, pandan leaves, aloe vera, turmeric, pomelo leaves and sea salt. Many of these have long been used in Vietnamese home remedies and herbal practices.
Rice is another key element across the treatments. Used throughout Asia as a source of nourishment, it appears in warm herbal compresses made with roasted rice, ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, perilla leaves and other herbs. Mineral-rich mud is also incorporated into facial treatments, reflecting the connection between the Champa civilisation, the land and the sea.
Each ritual takes a different approach. Champa Dawn Renewal combines steam therapy, an Ayurvedic head massage, a herbal foot ritual, rice body polish and a full-body massage focused on easing tension.
Champa Sacred Earth centres on herbal oil massage and warm rice compress therapy, while Champa Flow Within uses wave-inspired massage techniques and a herbal bath ritual.
The fourth treatment, Champa Bloom Essence, combines steam therapy, a mineral-rich mud facial and sound healing.
The experience also includes a selection of light macrobiotic refreshments made with herbs, grains, seeds and native botanicals. These include drinks such as the Golden Spice Ginger Tonic and Imperial Jasmine Infusion, as well as dishes including Forest Essence Mushroom Congee and Silken Tofu Serenity.
“‘Champa Journey’ is our interpretation of that cultural connection through wellness, with treatments influenced by Vietnamese healing rituals and Mui Ne’s restorative beachfront setting,” said Peter Ye, resort manager of The Anam Mui Ne.
The launch reflects a wider shift in luxury wellness, where resorts are increasingly looking to local traditions and ingredients rather than one-size-fits-all treatments.
