Rivertree STF Synergies Bhd has secured a RM168.1 million turnkey construction contract to design and build a 9,000-bed Centralised Labour Quarters (CLQ) in Meru, Klang, marking the first project under a broader RM600 million worker accommodation pipeline.
The contract was awarded to the group’s wholly owned subsidiary, RSSB Builders Sdn Bhd, by Asetvest Sdn Bhd for the development of Q Centre @ Teratai, a purpose-built workers’ accommodation facility that will comply with the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446).
The project is the first to materialise from a heads of agreement signed in March 2026 between RSSB, Asetra Sdn Bhd, Catenary Capital Sdn Bhd, Q Centre (Teratai) Sdn Bhd and Q Centre Management Sdn Bhd to develop up to four CLQ facilities across the Klang Valley with a combined indicative value of RM600 million and capacity for 28,800 beds.
Under the turnkey contract, Rivertree STF will be responsible for the project’s design, engineering, procurement and construction, with works expected to be completed by June 2028 and the Certificate of Completion and Compliance targeted by December 2028.
Executive Director Datuk Simon David Leong said the award significantly strengthens the group’s construction order book and is expected to contribute to earnings over the next two financial years, while positioning RSSB to pursue the remaining CLQ projects under its collaboration with Catenary Capital and Q Centre Management.
Separately, Asetvest signed an agreement to lease the completed facility to Q Centre Management, paving the way for the latter to operate Q Centre @ Teratai upon completion.
