MBSB Bank Provides RM60 Million Financing To Support Huat Lai’s Modern Poultry Expansion

MBSB Bank Bhd has provided RM60 million in Shariah-compliant financing to Huat Lai Group to support the expansion of its commercial layer farming operations in Melaka, as part of efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s food supply chain.

The financing will support the development of modern closed-house layer poultry facilities and an egg grading facility in Kuala Linggi, Melaka. The project will be rolled out in phases according to the group’s operational and production requirements.

The new facilities will adopt automated ventilation, climate-control systems, manure-belt technology and intelligent farm management solutions aimed at improving productivity, strengthening biosecurity and reducing reliance on manual labour.

MBSB Group Chief Executive Officer Rafe Haneef said the financing reflects the bank’s role in supporting businesses that contribute to national priorities such as food security and agricultural modernisation.

“A nation’s strength begins with its ability to feed its people. Behind every reliable food supply is a network of businesses willing to invest, innovate and grow for the long term.”

Managing Director of Huat Lai Group Lim Yeow Her said the financing would support the company’s investment in modern farming technology to improve production efficiency and meet growing demand for quality eggs.

“This financing marks another important milestone in Huat Lai Group’s long-term expansion strategy.”

Huat Lai Group is an integrated agricultural group focused on table egg production and has continued investing in technology and infrastructure to improve the resilience and sustainability of its poultry operations.
