Fuel Prices Drop Five Sen From Aug 6

Retail prices for RON97, unsubsidised RON95 and unsubsidised diesel will fall by five sen per litre for the week of Aug 6 to 12, the Finance Ministry (MOF) announced.

In a statement, MOF said RON97 will be priced at RM4.35 per litre, down from RM4.40, while unsubsidised RON95 will decline to RM3.77 from RM3.82. Diesel without subsidies will fall to RM4.57 from RM4.62 per litre.

The ministry said the reduction reflected a decline in petroleum prices towards the end of the Automatic Pricing Mechanism calculation period, despite Brent crude exceeding US$90 a barrel last week.

Subsidised fuel prices remain unchanged, with RON95 under BUDI95 at RM1.99 per litre and BUDI Diesel at RM2.10. Prices under the SKPS and SKDS schemes stay at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.
