Several tremors were felt in Penang following an earthquake in Indonesia, but the situation in the state remained under control, with no injuries or damage reported as of last night.
Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state government had received reports from the Operations Centre of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) on the tremors felt in several areas.
He stated authorities were monitoring the situation following the earthquake in Indonesia.
