The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has denied claims circulating on social media about a purported ‘RM1,700 eMADANI Aid’ for housewives, single mothers and senior citizens.
In a statement today, MOF said the information was false and urged the public not to be deceived by the viral claims.
“The public is advised not to fall for such claims, click on any suspicious links or share personal or banking information through unauthorised websites or accounts,” it said.
MOF also advised the public to verify information regarding government aid and initiatives through official government channels before sharing it.
“Check first. Do not easily believe. Do not spread false information,” it said.
Earlier, claims had circulated on social media alleging that the ministry was offering financial assistance to housewives, single mothers and senior citizens.
