Despite 33% Revenue Surge To RM5.5 Billion, DRB-Hicom 2Q PAT Slips To RM121 Million

DRB-HICOM Berhad recorded pre-tax profit of RM148.12 million for the second quarter ended 30 June 2026, an increase of 20.2% year on year while profit after tax was RM121 million down from RM127 million recorded the same period last year.

Revenue rose by 33.1% to RM5.5 billion. The increase in pre-tax profit was driven primarily by the Mobility segment, supported by improved results from the Postal and Services segments, but partially offset by weaker performance in the Banking and Properties segments.

Revenue growth in Q2 2026 was driven by higher PROTON sales volume, contribution from the enlarged aerospace business following the acquisition of CTRM AeroSystems Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.), stronger performance from the automotive distribution business, higher financing income at Bank Muamalat, and increased aviation, courier and logistics revenue within the Pos Malaysia group.

For the first half of 2026, the Group recorded pre-tax profit of RM340.52 million, an increase of 57.8% from RM215.81 million in the corresponding period of 2025. Revenue increased by 24.4% to RM10.26 billion from RM8.25 billion. The increase in pre-tax profit was driven mainly by the Mobility segment and a narrower loss in the Postal segment, partially offset by softer results in the Group’s other business segments.
