Causeway Link Switches Singapore-JB Buses To Cashless Payments

Causeway Link cross-border buses travelling from Singapore’s Newton and Queen Street stations to Johor Bahru will stop accepting cash onboard from today (Aug 20), as the operator moves towards fully cashless services.

Commuters will still be able to pay with cash before boarding, with tickets available from a ManjaLink kiosk at Queen Street and ground staff at Newton.

For onboard payments, passengers can use Visa and Mastercard, ManjaLink, the LUGO app or ezLink cards.

The operator said the move is intended to provide commuters with a faster and more seamless travel experience.

The cashless requirement will later be extended across all Causeway Link cross-border and feeder bus services, with onboard cash payments set to be discontinued from Oct 1, 2026.

The change means passengers relying on cash will need to purchase their tickets before boarding once the wider rollout takes effect.
