Sealink International Berhad has received US$17.28 million in insurance proceeds following a fire incident involving one of its vessels in Brazil.
The offshore marine services provider said the payment was received pursuant to a settlement agreement executed on May 5, 2026.
The insurance payout follows a series of announcements by Sealink concerning the vessel fire, with the initial disclosure made on May 28, 2025.
The company subsequently provided updates on June 9, June 30, Aug 29 and Sept 11, 2025, before announcing the settlement agreement in May this year.
The receipt of the insurance proceeds marks a significant development in resolving the financial claims arising from the incident.
Sealink did not disclose further details on the accounting treatment of the payout or its expected impact on the group’s financial results in its latest announcement.
