ES Sunlogy Berhad’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Savelite Engineering Sdn Bhd, has obtained a court judgment ordering Ecolectric Engineering Sdn Bhd to pay RM1.17 million over a dispute involving electrical installation works at a residential development in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur.
The solar company said the Kuala Lumpur High Court entered judgment in default of defence against Ecolectric on Aug 17, 2026, after the subcontractor failed to file its defence within the prescribed period.
The dispute arose from a RM1.65 million subcontract awarded to Ecolectric in April 2022 to supply labour for electrical installation works at a development comprising 54 three-storey villas and associated facilities along Jalan Teruntung, Damansara Heights.
Savelite alleged that Ecolectric failed to deploy sufficient or competent manpower to complete the works according to the agreed programme, leading to the termination of its subcontract.
The High Court declared Savelite’s termination notice dated May 21, 2025, lawful and valid.
It also ordered Ecolectric to pay RM1.23 million to Savelite, less RM60,223.55 in retention sums held by Savelite, resulting in a net judgment amount of RM1.17 million.
ES Sunlogy said Savelite has fully impaired RM3.17 million in receivables due from Ecolectric, reflecting its assessment of the recoverability of amounts arising from both the Damansara Heights and Old Klang Road projects.
