Hektar Real Estate Investment Trust (Hektar REIT) posted a 9.5% year-on-year increase in net property income (NPI) to RM17.4 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q26), as higher occupancy, tenancy remixing and cost optimisation strengthened underlying property performance.
Revenue remained steady at about RM32 million, while NPI margin improved markedly to 54.4% from 49.6% a year earlier.
For the first half of 2026, NPI rose 5.8% to RM32.64 million from RM30.86 million, with NPI margin improving to 51.9%.
Realised income, however, eased to RM8.23 million from RM8.82 million, mainly due to about RM2.5 million in one-off administrative expenses related to corporate initiatives.
Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hektar Asset Management Zainal Iskandar said the stronger NPI and margins showed that higher occupancy, active tenant remixing and disciplined cost management were delivering tangible results.
For 1H26, Hektar REIT approved an interim income distribution of 1.21 sen per unit, up 15.2% from 1.05 sen per unit a year earlier.
Looking ahead, Hektar REIT said it remains cautiously optimistic, with its enlarged portfolio, recurring rental income and higher non-retail contribution expected to support more resilient earnings.
