Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan has been elected president of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the remainder of the 2025-2029 term.
Ab Ghani secured 20 votes at the FAM Executive Committee Election held in conjunction with the Second FAM Extraordinary Congress 2026, defeating Football Association of Selangor deputy president Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, who received five votes.
His appointment fills the FAM presidency following the resignation of the previous executive committee earlier this year.
Ab Ghani will now lead the national football governing body through the remainder of its current term as FAM moves to reconstitute its leadership structure.
