EPF Trims Interest In SD Guthrie, Disposes 12.93 Million Shares

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) trimmed its interest in SD Guthrie Bhd after a series of share transactions on Sept 14 resulted in a net disposal of about 12.93 million shares.

According to filings spotted by BusinessToday, EPF disposed of 10.8 million shares held directly and another 5.54 million shares held indirectly through Citigroup Nominees accounts.

On the same day, EPF-linked nominee accounts acquired a combined 3.41 million shares, comprising 1.61 million shares under Amundi, 500,000 shares under CIMB PRI, 54,600 shares under Aberdeen and 1.25 million shares under AsianIslamic.

Following the transactions, EPF held 1.218 billion SD Guthrie shares, comprising 773.69 million shares held directly and 444.62 million shares through indirect or deemed interests.

The holdings represent a combined interest of approximately 17.62%, based on the 11.187% direct stake and 6.429% indirect or deemed stake disclosed in the filing.

The notice of the substantial shareholding change was dated Sept 15 and received by SD Guthrie on Sept 18.

EPF’s interests in SD Guthrie are held through a number of Citigroup Nominees accounts managed under different investment mandates.

SD Guthrie share price closed lower on Friday at 6.30 down 6 sen.
