The stock market saw mixed trading, with energy and renewable energy counters leading the gainers while technology, construction and selected consumer stocks came under pressure.
Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd led the gainers, surging RM1 to RM4.34 on 22.91 million shares traded. Samaiden Group Bhd followed, gaining 43 sen to RM2.38 on 9.49 million shares.
Hong Leong Bank Bhd advanced 36 sen to RM22.90 on 501,600 shares, while Solarvest Holdings Bhd also rose 36 sen to RM3.69 on 14.72 million shares. Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd rounded out the top five gainers, adding 33 sen to RM3.79 on 1.41 million shares.
On the downside, Time dotCom Bhd led the decliners, falling 55 sen to RM5.86 on 1.17 million shares. Sunway Construction Group Bhd declined 45 sen to RM7.43 on 5.76 million shares, while Petronas Gas Bhd slipped 30 sen to RM17.20 on 248,600 shares.
Ayer Holdings Bhd eased 25 sen to RM7.15 on 1,500 shares, while QL Resources Bhd fell 24 sen to RM3.95 on 2.12 million shares.
Trading remained active in selected energy and renewable energy counters, with Hengyuan recording the highest turnover among the gainers. Meanwhile, selling pressure was concentrated in telecommunications, construction and selected consumer-related stocks.
