The government will double the paddy harvesting incentive from RM50 to RM100 per hectare per season under Budget 2027, as part of RM2.62 billion in assistance for paddy farmers.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the assistance package, covering seed, fertiliser and pesticide subsidies, ploughing costs and paddy price support, amounts to around RM4,300 per hectare.
The existing ploughing incentive of RM300 per hectare will be maintained and extended to paddy farmers in Sabah and Sarawak.
Separately, RM20 million has been allocated to supply foliar fertiliser to more than 10,000 hectares of paddy fields to help restore and improve soil fertility.
