Jimmy Choo is marking its 30th anniversary with pearls, bringing the classic motif to a new collection of shoes, bags and accessories. Titled Pearls of Wisdom, the capsule is led by creative director Sandra Choi and began rolling out on Oct. 6.
Founded in 1996, the fashion house has incorporated pearls into its designs over the years. For this anniversary collection, Choi revisits the motif across a range of pieces, from everyday footwear to sculptural evening bags.
The collection includes the ITHACA wedge, which features three resin pearls beneath its sculpted gold heel, and the IRINA sandal, decorated with clusters of pearls and crystals. The INGRID flat takes a different approach, adding a pearl-effect buckle to an Oxford-inspired silhouette.
Pearls also feature across the INES collection, which includes a pump, mule and flat with oversized corsage details. The BON BON bag carries similar embellishments, while the TUBE MINI BAG and RAINDROPS minaudière feature cascading strands of resin pearls.
For evening accessories, the CLOUD clutch draws on the shape of oyster shells and the appearance of golden waves. The OYSTER clutch takes a more sculptural form, with a design inspired by the shape of a baroque pearl.
In its Oct. 7 coverage, Haute Living reported that the collection was conceived around the pearl’s significance to the house and its association with the 30th anniversary milestone. The motif also reflects a wider design history at Jimmy Choo, where pearls have appeared across footwear, accessories and boutique details.
The anniversary campaign features model Rayssa Medeiros, with photography by Mark Kean and still-life images by Jean Marques. It combines colour and black-and-white imagery, with visual references to 1996, the year the brand was founded.
