Louis Vuitton Gives Spring Dressing A More Relaxed Feel

Getting dressed for warmer weather often means choosing clothes that feel less restrictive. Louis Vuitton took that idea to the runway for its Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear show in Paris, where creative director Nicolas Ghesquière presented sheer fabrics, loose tailoring and fluid silhouettes.

Shown at the Cour Carrée du Louvre on October 6, the collection moved away from heavy-looking structures in favour of pieces that allow more movement. Wide-leg trousers featured deep side slits, while lightweight jackets came with loose sleeves and extended panels. Strappy dresses and sheer skirts added to the focus on lighter dressing.

The colour palette stayed relatively restrained. Pastel pink, pale blue and white appeared alongside black-and-white checks and diamond patterns with an iridescent finish. Rather than relying on bold logos, the collection placed more emphasis on cut, fabric and texture.

Ghesquière also brought his interest in futuristic design into the show’s setting. Models walked along a staged roadway in the Louvre’s historic courtyard, with Louis Vuitton-branded cars forming part of the backdrop. The contrast echoed the collection’s mix of modern clothing and classic surroundings.

Accessories followed a more understated approach. Small handbags came in shades such as cream and lemon, while the house’s monogram appeared more selectively. The bags complemented the clothes without competing with their shapes and patterns.

The beauty look kept things simple, too. Makeup artist Pat McGrath used subtle colour and soft definition, with radiant skin as a key feature.

Across the collection, the focus was on clothes that look less structured and allow for easier movement. For Louis Vuitton, Spring/Summer 2027 offers a wardrobe built around lightweight fabrics, relaxed proportions and practical dressing for the warmer months.
