Nestlé (Malaysia) Bhd led the gainers, rising 72 sen to RM90.16 on 59,000 shares traded, while MI Technovation Bhd followed closely, gaining 70 sen to RM6.78 on 9.79 million shares.
Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd (MPI) advanced 58 sen to RM44.08 on 45,600 shares. Hong Leong Bank Bhd added 38 sen to RM21.48 on 969,600 shares, while United Plantations Bhd rounded out the top five gainers, rising 30 sen to RM30.70 on 414,200 shares.
On the downside, Petronas Gas Bhd led the decliners, falling 68 sen to RM17.12 on 423,000 shares traded. Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd declined 30 sen to RM20.34 on 128,700 shares, while Negri Sembilan Oil Palms Bhd slipped 16 sen to RM5.29 on 9,000 shares.
Genting Plantations Bhd fell 15 sen to RM5.59 on 34,000 shares, while FCW Holdings Bhd eased 11 sen to RM1.70 on 400 shares.
The session saw gains in selected consumer, technology, banking and plantation counters, while Petronas Gas recorded the steepest decline among the listed stocks. Trading activity was notably higher in MI Technovation, which recorded the largest volume among the top gainers.
