Selangor, KL And Putrajaya Under Thunderstorm Warning This Evening

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected across several states, including Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

The warning, issued at 4:25 pm on Friday (9 October), also covers parts of Kedah, Perak, Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, alongside extensive areas in Sarawak and Sabah.

In Selangor, affected districts include Sepang, Petaling, Hulu Langat, Gombak and Hulu Selangor. The warning also covers Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, while Perak districts under alert include Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.

In Pahang, the affected areas are Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Kuantan, Temerloh, Raub, Bentong and Bera. The warning also applies to Baling in Kedah, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu, Jelebu and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan, and Jasin and Alor Gajah in Melaka.

Across Sarawak, the warning covers Sibu, Bintulu, Kapit, Song, Beluru, Marudi, Subis, Sarikei, Saratok, Betong, Lubok Antu, Samarahan, Kuching, Siburan and Limbang.

In Sabah, affected areas include Pensiangan in the Interior, several districts in the Sandakan division, including Tongod, Telupid, Labuk and Sugut, Sandakan and Kinabatangan, as well as Tawau.

The warning remains in effect until 7 pm on Friday, with thunderstorms potentially accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds during the stated period.
